Jon Nicholson graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from College of Idaho in 1986 and is a 1990 graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law. Jon has served as both a public defender and a prosecutor. The majority of Jon's experience in criminal law was serving as a prosecutor in Elmore, Twin Falls, and Jerome Counties. Jon is now using his extensive litigation skills and knowledge of assisting victims in domestic disputes, felony and misdemeanor crimes, juvenile crimes, and child protection cases to further his private practice in family law.

Jon is a past member of the Idaho Law Foundation Continuing Legal Education Committee. He is a past board member for the 5th District Family Law Continuing Legal Education Planning Committee serving as co-program chair. He is also a member of Inns of Court and past president of the 5th District Inns of Court. He is also a member of the Idaho State Bar and Idaho State Bar Family Law section. Jon was also a founding director of the board of directors for Outdoor Salute to Veterans. Jon was also past-board president for Outdoor Salute to Veterans. Jon now practices in divorce, custody, visitation, adoption, child support, wills, guardianship, conservatorship, criminal consultation and juvenile law. Additionally, Jon serves as a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem, Parenting Coordinator, and Mediator.

Not only does Jon have the experience to help, he also has the understanding. Jon is married with four children. He feels it is important to be fair and look at all sides of the issues. Additionally, he does what best serves his clients as well as arrive at the child's best interest when children are involved in the dispute.

In his free time, Jon can be found hunting chukars or elk during hunting season with his family. The rest of year free time is spent with family hiking and camping in the Idaho outdoors.
